Who of us does not know the infamous question from art class at school: “What does the artist want to tell us with this painting?” to deliver, which then usually started with an “Um …” and often didn’t have much more to offer in terms of content. Fortunately, we survived. At least we thought we were the work of the British illustrator Enisaurus . In his “Deconstructing Characters” he shows characters we love so much like Super Mario, Sonic, Son Goku, Minions etc. in a very distorted way. When looking at the works, we ask ourselves what should be expressed here?

We would have the following interpretation approaches: Perhaps it is a warning against drugs or too much video puel consumption, which have a negative effect on cognition and health. Possibly a homage to the agility of the portaginists shown, who constantly experience new adventures, acquire new skills and are not intimidated by setbacks

But it can also be anger about not making it through a level in video games or disappointment about series plots that have been artistically discharged.

The artist himself claims, by the way, that he just wanted to try something new and had no deeper meaning in doing so. However, this statement only fuels our skepticism. Hence the question to you, what do you mean what should be conveyed to us with these illustrations.
